Volunteers Opportunities

Gurnee Days is a great opportunity to have fun while helping your community! Gurnee Days 2018 will be held August 9-12, 2018.  For more information please email info@gurneedays.com

Publicity:

January through November

Create brochure working with printer vendor, create event calendar for website, maintain GurneeDays.com website content, manage website photo gallery, publish press releases, develop media ads, & post to Facebook/other social sites

Business Community:

April through September

Work with community businesses to obtain sponsor cash donations & In-kind donations of prizes, work with printers to develop sponsor signage and flags, coordinate posting of sponsor signs prior to / during the event, and manage sponsor cash donations, invoicing and payments received.

Information Booth:

Friday Aug 11, hourly timeslots between 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM; Saturday Aug 12, hourly timeslots 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM; Sunday, Aug 13, hourly timeslots 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Greet and provide general information to Gurnee Days guests about events, facilities, etc. Information documents with all needed information are provided.

Beer Garden:

Friday, Aug 11 from 7:30 to 10:30 PM
Sell beer tickets to Gurnee Days guests (2 volunteers)

Exhibit Booths:

Saturday, Aug 12, Time: 7 AM to 10:30 AM

Assist exhibitors with unloading, directions and parking

Great Gurnee Adventure:

Saturday, Aug 12, Time: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM

The Great Gurnee Adventure (GGA) is an “Amazing Race” style event where teams compete in challenges at various businesses and locations in Gurnee. Volunteers help facilitate the challenge at each location by setting up the challenge for each new team, provide rules and instructions, time the challenge, log results.

Youth Events:

Fri/Sat/Sun Aug 11 through 13

Assist with events at various times throughout Gurnee Days weekend such as Friday night family event, Saturday ice cream eating contest, Sunday petting zoo/pony rides.

Gurnee Days Parade:

Saturday, Aug 12 and Sunday, Aug 13

The Gurnee Days parade steps off on Sunday morning and includes 50-75 floats and marching units. Assistance is needed to set up parade line-up signs in the parade staging area on Saturday, August 12 and on Sunday, August 13 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM assist with coordination of parade participants before, during and after the parade.
