The parade will be on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 12:00 noon and is one of the most popular events of Gurnee Days. It features more than 50 entries including local school bands, floats from local businesses and organizations, youth programs, and more!
The Gurnee Days theme is “Gurnee Days – Let’s Play Ball!”. Businesses and organizations – use your creativity to come up with a Let’s Play Ball theme to your float or entry.
How to apply to be in the parade?
Click here for the application form. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Applications must be received by July 16, 2017. Any applications received after July 16 must include a $50 late fee.The parade is limited to 75 entries in consideration of other events scheduled that day. Confirmation letters with lineup information will be mailed out July 26, 2017.
When is the parade line up?
Line-up for the parade starts at 10:00am and closes at 11:45am. Participants can be dropped off at the line-up location off Delany road, north of Old Grand Ave, Just follow the signs. Parade participants can be picked-up at the Parade end lot located at the end of Emerald Ave at the “NEW” park location, formerly Gurnee Grade School.
The parade is about an hour long with fantastic stage events following at Viking Park.
A parade information package will be mailed to the person that submitted the application and includes a map of the parade line-up spot, the parade entry placement number, and drop-off and pick-up details.
Where can I park to attend Gurnee Days and the parade?
You can park at Gurnee Community Church, Warren Township High School (O’Plaine Campus) and O’Plaine School.
